About Bob

Bob began playing golf in the mists of pre-history (the 1950’s) and has been hard at it ever since.  He began with scores embarrassingly up in the 120’s.  Gradually these were whittled down to an average of 90 through decades of hard work (no actual practice, though).  Those scores are back on the upward grade, heading toward the 120’s again.  (All things old are new again.)  He did take a few lessons in high school - and was cut from the high school team in 12th grade (for horsing around before practice).

His dad got him his first set of matched clubs at H.S. graduation (Sam Snead Blue Ridge), and he bought his own replacement set (Pings) 30 years later.  (Technology will NOT get ahead of this guy!)  He finally made a hole-in-one on October 1, 2001 and loves “Open Range” (Wants to be Robert Duvall).  Hence, the permanent moniker - “PingAceBoss”.

Bob hopes to someday shoot his age - and is looking for a way to live to 120. (Without exercising.)

  2. Kinny,
Thanks for the post, the kind words, and the CUTE picture! I’m sure it’ll drum up lots of new friends. I’d say”break a leg”, but probably not a good phrase for a biker, huh?
